Im a proud member of Deeside synchronised ice skating club along with other sports and groups around the country the club has been affected by Covid-19, whilst things start to get “back to normal” other sports and ice rinks will slowly reopen, however Deeside ice rink (our home rink) has been fully converted into “the rainbow hospital“ to help the fight against Covid-19. Whilst we all fully understand and support the decision, its left us with nowhere to train until at least 2021. Our hope is to train at other rinks futher away so we can compete as planned in November.... the cost of rink rent and travel is proving to be a lot more expensive so we are looking at ways to raise funds to help in any way.

Deeside synchronised iceskating club had a record season last season we are proud to be british champions and hold numerous other titles. We are currently keeping fit and ensuring the team sticks together by organising zoom bake alongs, quizzes, off ice sessions, ballet ect.

All the skaters come from different backgrounds and abilities, as everyone who skates knows its not a cheap sport under normal circumstances so every penny really does count!

On a personal note the club introduced me to synchronised iceskating after i retired from free skating, its not just an iceskating club its a genuine family where everyone can be themselves, the age range is huge so everyone is welcome. Never did i think that id be lifting a trophy again but thanks to the amazing team it happened just before lockdown.
