Tafi Atome New Town needs toilets!

Last year our family saw first hand how toilets are desperately needed. Villagers, young and old, male and female, and those with disabilities have to wee and poo outside. They have brilliant skills to plan, build and maintain the toilets but living hand to mouth means they cannot buy the raw materials to start.

Imagine now, needing to go to the loo, just ordinarily, or maybes with a bit of urgency, or maybes with an immediate need, having an upset tummy.
Imagine that you have to rush outside, try to find a hidden, safe place, one where no one has already been........imagine how you feel .....exposed, unclean ...imagine that you have no option but to let your children and grandparents pick up disease.......imagine you are on your period........imagine you have difficulties walking or crouching down....imagine how you would feel......right now.........

The villagers are desperate to change their health and well being for the better (diseases spread like wildfire where there is no sanitation). They want to enable women to feel and be safe during the most human and yet most vulnerable of bodily functions. They want to provide an alternative to being carried and held by others to wee and poo for people who have disabilities.

It is a tiny step, just 12 toilets (two blocks of 6) for a community of 1500 but when there is now nothing your donation will enable their to be something real, tangible. A small step in partnership that will make a positive, on going, appropriate difference to the lives of individuals.

The villagers will build and caretake the toilet block, giving, without recompense what they have, their time and knowledge and determination.
