Story
Into my third year of running the fantastic Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon ( I know...I am mad for doing it again ! ), its going to be an amazing opportunity to support and dedicate my run and of course fund raise for :
One incredible man
Two brilliant institutions
Three personal passions
Last year was the 25th anniversary of my father's tragic death and much water has flowed under the bridge in all those years. Dad brought my brother Majid and I up for most of our formative lives and his loss was huge.

He had a seismic multigenerational impact on the family with his vision and passion for education and supporting those who were less well off in life. I have probably bored many of my friends about him over the years!
It was a pleasure then to use the money raised last year and additional funds donated by me and my family totalling £10,000, to be able to set up with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine a dedicated international fund for emergency medicine education and leadership development in his name - thank you RCEM ! We will be identifying the first 10 Centres in Pakistan and South Asia that will benefit in Year 1 from this fund later in 2025.
In addition, I am also delighted to be working in a fantastic institution in Leeds Teaching Hospitals that is allowing us to launch a Centre for Emergency Care & Global Health ( CENT-EC Global) that will support education, innovation and research activities. Thanks especially to my Clinical Director - Anin Dasgupta, Medical Director - Magnus Harrison and Prof Phil Wood our CEO as well as all my colleagues at LTH and the brilliant Leeds Hospitals Charity for all their help and support in getting to this stage.
So ...this year...aiming for at least another £10K to share for...
One man - my Dad !
Two institutions that I want to raise money for -
a) Royal College of Emergency Medicine
&
b) Leeds Teaching Hospitals - CENT-EC Global ( part of the Dept of Emergency Medicine)
and
Three personal passions - Education, Training & Innovation
I am grateful for all your support in helping me get to my £10,000 total for this year!
