Story

I don't know about you, but a few years ago when I saw the picture of a 3 year old boy, drowned and washed up on a beach as his family fled from a war zone broke my heart.

Imagine living somewhere so dangerous, that the safest thing to do for your child is to give up all you have and know, walk for days/weeks across countries, risk a journey on a dingy that has claimed lots of lives, sleep outside in the scorching sun, all with no idea where or how the journey ends.

These are real people. This is real life.

Around 3 years ago some of our team went to Athens to help in any way we could with the crisis. The stories were horrendous, and the scenes even more so.

The problem hasn’t went away however.

There are still lots of displaced, homeless, hurt and broken people in Athens. So this summer a group of Young People from The Takeback are heading to Athens in Greece.

Every person going has paid for their own trip already, and so 100% of any money raised is going directly to help meet any practical needs we might come across on the ground in Greece.
