⚽ Talking Football Charity Match 2026 ⚽

We’re proud to announce the return of our annual Talking Football Charity Match — and this year we’re taking it back to our grassroots roots.

📅 Saturday 13th June 2026

📍 Horwich St Mary’s Football Club

⏰ 11am – 4pm

With two pitches available, we’ll be able to get as many of our players involved as possible while raising money for a fantastic cause.

This year we’ll be raising money for Alzheimer’s Society — a charity close to the hearts of some of our members whose families have been affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s, two incredibly cruel illnesses.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have raised around £30,000 to date through our events and fundraising efforts — and this year we’re determined to continue building on that amazing support.

Now that we have officially become a Community Interest Company (CIC), we are also able to raise and reinvest funds directly back into Talking Football to continue supporting men in our community.

The money raised will be split 70/30, with 70% going to Alzheimer’s Society and 30% helping Talking Football provide sessions, facilities, equipment and wellbeing support.

Here are just a few facts that show why this cause matters so much:

• Nearly 1 million people in the UK are living with dementia

• Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia, accounting for the majority of cases

• Dementia is one of the biggest health challenges facing the UK today

• Every year, thousands of families are affected when someone they love is diagnosed

• The number of people living with dementia in the UK is expected to rise to around 1.4 million by 2040
