Mental health issues are extremely common, especially amongst students. However there is still a lot of stigma associated, and there are many resources available which may not be well known.

We are planning to hold the second annual Mental Health Awareness Charity Ball at our university (University of Leicester) in order to raise more awareness about mental health issues and the different avenues of getting help. We hope to have speakers from an expert and from students who have battled through mental health issues. We also hope to have entertainment, a three course meal, a dance floor and a raffle and auction.

Overall, we hope this to be a positive, fun and entertaining evening, which will hopefully be enlightening for our students.

We will be raising money for MIND UK, who do incredible work in supporting those with mental health issues, researching more into this subject and campaigning to reduce stigma. Last year we were able to raise £2423 for MIND UK and we hope to raise even more this year!

In order for this to be a success, and to raise as much money as possible for MIND UK, we will need some funds to begin. Please help us to make this event a success amongst our student community.
