Story
As some of you know already, on the 26th April we went into hospital and were told the most heartbreaking news, that our baby boy Luca’s heart had stopped beating at 22 weeks.
I gave birth to our son on the 30th and he was just perfect. We are beyond devastated and the whole experience was traumatic, but I couldn’t imagine going through it without the amazing care we received from the maternity bereavement team at Bedford hospital. We were shown compassion and love by everyone we spoke to.
We would like to raise as much money as we can to help towards any equipment or services that they provide. This could be: towards a cold cot - it meant Luca could stay by our side in our room for as long as we wanted; for the upkeep of the butterfly suite - we had our own private room/bathroom away from the normal labour ward, that allowed Phil to stay by my side overnight; funeral costs - we had everything taken care of for us, so we didn’t have to worry about the cost of the service and cremation.
These are just a few things that the money could go towards, things that made our lives just that bit easier. We want to help the hospital to continue with this care, to help anyone that may go through this in the future.
I wish no one had to go through the pain of a stillbirth, but it happens so much more often than we think. Current statistics revealing 15 babies die before, during or shortly after birth in the UK every single day.
✨ We are hosting a quiz night and raffle on 3rd August at Ampthill F.C to hopefully raise some more money! We are looking for local businesses that would be willing to donate any prizes for our raffle, if you would like to help us out please get in touch by emailing tamikahinesdesign@outlook.com ✨
Once we’ve finished fundraising, the hospital will be arranging a time where we can hand over the cheque and say a proper thank you to everyone that took care of us.
Any donation no matter how small would be really appreciated!

UPDATE:
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far, we’ve more than tripled our original target of £250! This was done in 1 day, so we’re setting a new target of £1000
