Story
I am fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to travel to Tanzania to volunteer as a medical trainee in the poverty driven regions. I would like to take this opportunity to provide more then just free healthcare but raise money for children and newborn's who circumstaily faced with worst of the world. Let me share a story with you "It's a windy thursday in London, and outside the maternity unit of Whipps Cross Hospital London the cries of a newborn are heard but also the scuffled cries of the father, a man who vowed to never be seen crying.
The hospital staff are aware the baby is born prematurely but are reassured that he will do just fine, unfortunately little tommy will stay in NICU (Neonatal intensive care unit) for 2weeks but he will most probably be just fine. It will cost roughly £1200 per night rounding that to a total of £16,800, but you can't compare numbers to the life of a child. But far away Alannia is born to a poverty stricken mother, healthy with no complication. But because she doesn't have a dime to her name, providing clean water for her baby is something of a major task. And little Alannia gently passes away because of poor hygiene leading to serious infective complication." Both babies came into this world, expecting the same but in a world where designer shoes are more important then a life of innocent child, Alannia had to quickly return from where she came. So now lets just sit back and think, we know the world is a unfair place but lets work together to make it a fairer place.
The money you donate not "could" but "will" save lives of children. As doctor what helps me sleep at night is knowing I helped save someone life. I want to share that feeling with you all. So donate and lets raise money for the children who need it most. Thank you
