In the Thames Valley horses and ponies are being abandoned by their owners. Horses need care and the land they graze needs to be managed. Abandoned horses are often starving and eat plants that are poisonous and their systems quickly become overwhelmed by parasites. They will eventually die unless the RSPCA or Saving Abandoned and Flygrazing Horses (SAFE) rescue them. The RSPCA do a great job, but they are overwhelmed by the numbers. SAFE are a volunteer led charity who specialise in rescuing abandoned horses. Having volunteered with them I know the fantastic work they do.

Any donations you give will go directly to the care of these three - SAFE is run by volunteers and takes no overhead or administrative costs.
