Story

On July 25th 2017, Tansy left this world too soon after 28 short, beautifully lived, years. To mark the first anniversary of her passing, her sister Holly, brother Jonathan and brother-in-law Aaron, will hike 100km from her home in North West Kent, to the Kent coast, raising funds for the Tansy Stowell Research Award. Your support and donations would mean the world to us.

*About the Award*
Developed by her family and tutors at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in Rochester, where she earned her first degree, the Award of a trophy plus £100 toward study materials will be presented each year to a student who has shown exceptional research and studentship skills, and gone above and beyond in supporting their peers and staff. Exactly as Tansy did. For the first five years, it will be kindly funded by one of Tansy's tutors but we want to ensure it can go on for many many years to come.

Our goal is £1000, supporting the award for 10 years. If we can raise more, we could look to increase the number of years and the value of the award; for example, £2000 could cover an increased award for 15 years, £3000 for 20 years, £4000 for 25 years etc.

*The Hike!*
100km over two days (25th / 26th July 2018), starting at Tansy's home in Trottiscliffe, then along the North Downs, past UCA and finishing in Dymchurch where she spent many happy summers growing up.

*Want to get involved?*
Help us train! We will be doing a number of training walks between now and July; if you fancy a decent weekend hike on the North Downs, let us know and we'd love to have you join us. We'll update you on our training by posting here and on Facebook, all encouragement welcome!

Let's do this! xxx
