I'm raising £2300 to Therapeutic break for Homeless people

Hi, my name is Tanya, and I am raising money to continue offering short breaks to homeless people who are patients at the Dr Hickey surgery (I pinch myself everyday,).
In November 2024 I organised a 2 day trip to The Paddington Farm Trust in Glastonbury overlooking the Mendips. The trip was self funded by Annie, Carla and I. A return stay has just taken place following the generosity of the National Education Union, who made a donation last Christmas. A further donation was made by the family of Daniel, a patient, who sadly died far too young and has left a massive gap amongst all those that knew him.
The farm offers a peaceful enviroment where one can unwind, press the reset button, and just be at peace. A chance to break habits, realise that change is possible when there are opportunities to do this.
During our most recent stay, a number of activities took place , working on the farm planting beetroot and courgettes, walking to the magical Tor and town centre, paddle boarding and beach games at Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon. Everyone took the opportunity to muck in, cooking dinner, baking, lighting fires, music dj, everyone just cared and looked after each other, shared experiences, lots of laughter and happiness.
One person had not slept in a bed or cooked in 3 years, and their experience was priceless. Another guest had just gotten back on substance misuse treatment. The first couple of days were difficult. Anyone with drug addictions will understand titration and optimal dosing. They rode the storm, joined in and shared their very caring, energy with us, it was an absolute joy to be part of.
Following the success of these breaks, I have secured bookings on the farm for November 25 and June 26. Donations will primarily go towards the cost of accommodation and food. Any surplus money will go towards activities, such as horse riding lessons and 'what's on' at Glastonbury Abbey....nothing is impossible.
Thank you 😊
Tanya
