Hi! I am Tanya. I live in India. I was born in a middle-class family. My mother suffers from a disease called Arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a type of vascular birthmark, which is present on her pelvis and right leg. Most of the household income goes into saving her life by paying numerous medical bills which has left us in a terrible financial situation. It is because her disease is so unique that we have often have to travel abroad to get medical help including surgeries. This has turned out to be difficult for me as I aspire to become a journalist and work with the BBC but my family does not have enough finances to fund my education at University of London.
