Story

Our journey started with one little dog

Back in 2018 life was a huge struggle for our son Mancub.

Diagnosed with autism he didn't interact speak or show emotions in any way shape or form, We needed a dog for our falconry business and off we went to look at an adult male dog only sometimes things don't go to plan and we ended up being chosen by a red spaniel puppy, we named her Fern.

Fern made an instant impact on our son,his eyes lit up and his face beamed at first sight and we instantly knew that this was the start of something special. Fern was sent for specialist training and over time she became Mancub's assistance dog. The help that she provides is invaluable. We as a family can now take Mancub places we never thought possible with his best friend by his side,Fern is always on hand to lend a helping paw if the going gets tough.

During lockdown we fundraised for the Ann Conroy Trust who support people with Chiari Malformation, a condition that Mancub has undergone two major neuro surgeries for. During this time Mancub found his love for embroidery, the colours, the repetition and sequences had Mancub hooked. After raising 10k for the Ann Conroy Trust we decided to start T.A.P Assistance Dogs and raise money to purchase and have trained dogs to support children with autism.

And here we are today two years in and with our team of T.A.P dogs rapidly growing and helping other autistic children and their families,we have a wonderful bunch of supporters who have helped us reach where we are today and we will be forever grateful.

Thankyou to each and every one of you for the love and support ❤️

Flinn the newest T.A.P team member. We are currently taking applications for Flinn. He is looking for a child between the ages of 5 and 16 and he will be trained to provide support for autism. Flinn has lots of training ahead of him,any donation big or small towards Finn's specialist training is very much appreciated.
