Tapestry of Black Britons (TBB) is a community interest company founded in 2024, TBB launched with a World War 2 and Yoruba creation story tapestry, exhibited alongside a creative careers event for young people at international gallery the Arnolfini.

Supported by ancient liveries, Arts Council England, John Feeney Trust and Windrush Day Fund, TBB has gone on to create 3 further tapestries: ‘African Romans in Britain’ and a Carnival diptych.

Alongside 13 exhibitions in museums, galleries, libraries and community spaces, TBB has consistently engaged under‑25s: interviewing prospective University interns, designing an implementing a work experience for unit for MA Journalism students and involving pupils from primary to sixth form in inclusive heritage creativity.

TBB has already reached over 45,000 people, engaged 1,000+ school pupils, and worked with poets, filmmakers, and craft practitioners. TBB;s workshops across London including Black Cultural Archives and Greenwich Maritime Museum's Caribbean Takeover, exemplify TBB's power to spark dialogue and embed inclusive heritage in public spaces.
