I’ve tried my best to shy away from doing anything like this, but several folks have expressed an interest in supporting us. So here we are…..strap yourselves in…..

As most of you will know by now, Tara has unfortunately been diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer in her lungs. In short, it’s terminal and can’t be cured, but hopefully it can be managed. Obviously that depends on multiple factors, but we are going to try a few different alternative treatments alongside her chemo that has already begun.

I am hoping to raise a few quid to allow us to throw the kitchen sink at this horrific disease in order to give Tara as much time and as good a quality of life as possible.

To begin with, we are going to start Tara on a quite intensive course of Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. A pressurised tank contains Tara for an hour and pumps some pure oxygen directly into her body which helps promote cell growth and reproduction. Cancer is unable to grow in a highly oxygenated environment so this is the first port of call. Although Mark has offered us a fantastic price in his facility in Wakefield, it is still going to cost £50 a session and Tara will have three a week for three months initially. Then we’ll see where we are.

There are also other smaller lifestyle changes we are making to help. We have gone as organic as we can within our house which has doubled our shopping bill, and we’re just about to buy a fancy alkaline water filter.

For those who know me, you know I never shy away from doing something mega in return for your donation. I have already had several messages from bands who are willing to donate their time towards a wicked festival at the Old Post Office or something similar. So leave this with me, and I’ll sort it out to return the favour!

If we do manage to hit target and we have a few quid left over, we are looking at booking some adventures in order to make some memories for our family. I will use any money towards these, but obviously the first point of call is Tara’s treatment!
