Story

We are nearly there!! Please keep donating :)

I am lucky enough to live very close to Milton Village Community centre and café. The coffee shop, Pure Ground offers a warm and friendly meeting place to all. From the elderly and vulnerable to young families and school children. It is a Community Interest Company which means that all profits go back into the Community. This wonderful café was burgled and smashed to pieces by mindless thugs. The damage ran into the thousands, and staff were left devastated. The Director who is also the Pastor of Langstone church, Steve Macfarlane wondered if he would even be able to reopen. The Corona Virus pandemic had already caused financial difficulty and the café were relying on the furlough scheme to avoid closure. The burglary and wanton destruction could well have seen this amazing local business close its doors for good. Leaving local people, many of which regard the café as the chance to have a chat and a bit of social interaction, with no outlet.

I feel very passionate about keeping this little local hub open and thriving and am raising as much money as I can to help Pure Ground coffee shop fully reopen it's doors in the coming weeks. The money will be used for new equipment and repairs to restore the café to it's former glory. I am going alcohol free for a month! Everyone who knows me, knows that I love a drink or three :) and so this is a real challenge for me! I know that there are many great causes, all desperate for donations but I would really appreciate it if you could dig deep and give to a local very worthy cause. Thank you for reading this and a massive thank you for donating! Lots of love Tara
