Story

Is it right that someone that murders a child can get legal aid but a mother fighting to stop her child being adopted cannot?

This is the plight of someone very close to me and the reason I have set this page up!

A single mother of three who goes through some very traumatic times turns to alcohol, yes it did get out of hand and her 3 children were taken off her and put in foster care. Due to the case being in court and for legal reasons I cannot put too much. The mother sought help for her alcohol and has been alcohol free for over 2 years now. She has a full time job and her children have always been very well looked after, clean, very well fed. (How many 3 year olds do you know that eat squid, lobster, fish, all fruit and veg) They are very polite which was all acknowledged by everyone involved in the case. The mother has managed to get 2 of her children back, but social services decided it was in the interest of the youngest child to be put up for adoption!

As the mother works full time, she has been turned down for legal aid 4 times. She has not received any funding to stop the "FORCED" adoption of her child. She went to court to ask for the courts permission to oppose the adoption and was refused. Her barrister believed in her that much that he put in an appeal to the Royal courts of justice. She won her appeal and was also given permission to oppose the adoption by a very well known and respected Judge! So what does this tell you?

Yet still she is not entitled to legal aid. It seems that obstacles are being thrown in this mothers way so as not to give her back her child that SHE gave BIRTH to.

If she is not a good enough parent then WHY has she been given 2 of her children back whom are under the age of 14?

Is there welfare not important? How will their sibling feel when he grows up and finds out That his mother so desperately wanted him back that she fought so hard even getting herself into serious debt?

It is Time now to get this story out there and h
