Story

Tasc was founded in 2014 following the sudden closure of a well used Advice provider in Kirkby. The community were devastated and struggled to access the existing services as demand grew.

As qualified advisers delivering welfare and money advice across Knowsley for over 20 years we believe such advice is much needed, particularly in disadvantaged communities like Knowsley.

FACT Knowsley is one of the worst boroughs in the UK affected poverty including many older people and those just beggining their lives with younger families. As residents of Knowsley WHY is the financial welfare not as much of a priority as health!. Information on services, entitlements and financial assistance can only increase financial well-being in such communities.

FACT In just over 2 years delivering much needed welfare and money advice services TASC have helped to generate £4.5 million pounds in actual awards of 'what may have largely been unclaimed benefits.

Please do not be put off by the stigma shame and discrimination portrayed by media and some public opinions,

Please read some of our services users comments from 2016-17 evaluation report.

We asked TASC service users to complete an evaluation survey to provide a summary.

What were the issues you needed our help with? Service users were able to write in their own words any additional comments in this section; we recorded some of the extracts

“Tasc helped me with my appeal” “I would have been lost without TASC and they were friendly and informative I would be lost without their service and value them as part of the community”
