My mother has always been the strongest and most generous person I know. After experiencing 15 years of emotional abuse and abandonment from my dad, I started to notice how much it began to affect her. As a full-time student and single mother of two with no emotional support from the family closest to her, she has struggled to maintain her own mental health, pay her mortgage bills and afford her repeat prescriptions.
