My name is Octavia and I am a 16 year old who is passionate about helping others. I would like to read medicine at university and therefore I need to complete medical work experience. As I enjoy volunteering and charity work, I am fundraising to complete medical work experience in one of the location offered by the company Gap Medics such as Tanzania or Trinidad in July 2017. My work experience will include shadowing doctors, learning about area specific diseases and volunteering with the local community. To raise money towards my goal of £1500, my father and I are running a 10km sponsored charity run on November 16th (Run in the Dark at Battersea Park, which supports the Mark Pollock foundation). The money raised will go towards the cost of completing the work experience with Gap Medics and the flights to Tanzania or Trinidad. Any contribution is greatly appreciated by not only me, but the local community of wherever I end up! Any excess money over my goal of £1500 will go towards the Mark Pollock foundation that organise the charity run which my father and I are competing in.
