Weʼve raised £30 to send our son to Cambodia for 4 weeks in the summer of 2018 to support school & housing developments.
- Funded on Tuesday, 2nd January 2018
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Our son Taylor is travelling to Cambodia for 4 weeks in the summer of 2018 with some of his classmates. The cost of this trip is £3995. Whilst there he will be helping to build/rebuild schools and homes. He will be spending time teaching and playing games/sports with the local children. Unfortunately only 20% of the children out there have access to an education. So by the CAMPS team being there as volunteers they can help children who feel privileged to be learning something new, in classrooms that he will hopefully help to build. He will be travelling around 4 different sites in Cambodia, sleeping in shacks, longhouses and sometimes just hammocks under the stars.
Taylor has successfully secured the targets for his first 2 payments due 1st Sept and 1st Nov. He has done this through work, donations, car washes & selling various items. He now has £1995 left to raise by 1st May 2018. He is planning a 24hr canoe trip, a week with no electronics and his sister is doing a sponsored silence for 24hrs to help raise funds. We will update you when these events take place. Any donations are gratefully received to send him on this fantastic journey
We understand there are many crowd funding pages raising funds for so many good causes but Taylor really would like this opportunity to do something amazing and help a worthy community as well as build his confidence, independence & life skills before he enters into a new chapter of his life at college and university. So if you can donate anything at all it really would be greatly appreciated.
