Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I would like to raise money for my best mate Angelo. We have been best mates since we were 5 years old and met playing football. We played football together since we met at minis football training, and then our first team was u7. We will be 15 this year.
In November 2024, after football training one night Angelo went home and completely unexpectedly had a seizure in the middle of the night. He went to Addenbrooks Hospital and was in a coma in intensive care on a ventilator. We couldn’t celebrate Angelos birthday like we normally would (with cake and family at his house) as he was still in intensive care. He was then moved to a ward in Addenbrooks until February 2025 when he was then moved to The Children’s Trust in Tadworth where they help rehabilitate children with brain injuries. Angelo came home in April 2025 to continue his rehab. Due to Angelos seizure he has suffered some brain damage the effects of this mean that Angelo is currently non-verbal and is currently wheelchair bound. But, there has been major progress since Addenbrooks due to The Childrens trust and his family, but mainly his amazing mum and dad, who on top of the rehab that was put in place for Angelo, have funded a private physio and oxygen therapy treatment (amongst other things).
I would like to raise money to pay for more oxygen therapy, as since Angelo has started his treatment there have been many big steps forward in his recovery, including communicating through sounds and shaking or nodding his head, sitting unaided, standing aided, saying mum and even kicking the football from his chair in the garden with me. The oxygen therapy has been amazing but expensive.
Angelo has never lost his personality or sense of humour and we just want to be back on a football pitch together.
Thank you for reading our story and for any money you can donate. I am running a 10k in luton on sunday the 12th of october
