This year, the Turkish Cypriot Community Association (TCCA) would like to place much of its efforts into helping the homeless on the streets of Green Lanes, Haringey, Islington and Hackney.

We want to help those sleeping on cold streets in the North London area, with some hope for 2018.

Crisis charity have teamed up with us to provide care packages for as little as £26.08, which will contain:

· Hot, delicious, nutritious Christmas dinners over nine days.

· Advice on housing, benefits, finances, employment, as well as legal matters.

· Healthcare, including TB and hepatitis screenings.

· Dental treatment and eye tests, including glasses.

· Hairdressing and massage treatments.

· Learning and skills opportunities, internet cafes and IT workshops.

· Specialist centres providing safe accommodation to rough sleepers, and women.

· PLUS access to training and support in the year ahead.

We want to make a change from the routine of passing by, feeling sorry for the person in a cardboard bed under the bridge, from feeling guilty about the person huddled in the corner of a doorway during the bitter winter. We hope to instigate even a small change and offer a glimmer of hope for the future during this period filled with family, gifts and excess.

It is our aim to raise a total £521.60 which will allow us to help 20 people. We will run this collection until the 19.12.2017, parallel to other events occurring during the Christmas period.
