Story
Traumatic events may destroy individuals lives, a family, a community, a country. In 1995 the Screbrinica massacre led to one of the worst events of genocide that a nation and the world cannot forget, ignore or completely recover from.
I have been working with Phoenix-aid charity since 2001. This has consisted of providing much needed relief through the provision of a variety of complementary therapies and workshops to people in varying communities and settings. More recently in 2016 contact was made with the women of screbrinica group to forge links and ascertain the interest, and possible opportunities in providing complementary therapies and training.
Teaching hands was set up (with a future view to charitable status) to specifically raise funds to enable treatment provision and basic training so that people can learn therapeutic touch techniques to use for themselves as well as for others within their community.
