I've raised £960 to The Astley Ainslie Hospital, Ward 2

In 2017 at 35 years old our friend Alicia Livani was diagnosed with a brain tumour, the amazing woman that she is, she has successfully battled through brain surgery and now she has started her long journey to recovery.
As a single parent it would not be possible without the support from her friends, her family and more importantly Astley Ainslie Hospital who are vital for her rehabilitation.
The Astley Ainslie Hospital provides rehabilitation services for adults with acquired brain injury, stroke, orthopedic injuries, limb amputation, and progressive neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis (MS).
The team on Ward 2 are involved in the intensive specialist rehabilitation providing the ideal setting for further treatment, where a structured rehabilitation programme has been put in place for Alicia.
One of the definitions of ‘rehabilitate’ in The Oxford English Dictionary is: “to restore someone back to health through training and therapy”. Although this is a good place to start, it is rarely quite this simple with acquired brain injury. Alicia’s recovery will take time and dedication from both Alicia and the team on Ward 2.
As close friends we have decided to raise funds for The Astley Ainslie Hospital to show our appreciation for the staff on Ward 2, all funds raised will go directly to ward 2 to help provide comfort and support for future inpatients.
