Story

We are Andrea’s Army — a circle of family, close friends and loved ones standing shoulder to shoulder for a woman who means everything to us. Andrea is not only a very close relative, but also a treasured friend, the kind of person whose love, kindness and strength have touched so many lives. We are the people who know her heart, who have shared laughter with her, leaned on her in difficult times, and been lucky enough to have her in our lives. Now, when she needs us most, we are standing proudly beside her.

Andrea is only 52 years old, a loving mum to her son, a much-loved sister, and someone whose presence lights up every room she enters. If you know Andrea, you know how special she truly is. She has always been there for others without hesitation, offering support, warmth and care whenever it was needed. Now it is our turn to be there for her.

Andrea has already faced a battle that many could never imagine. She previously fought small cell lung cancer with incredible courage, enduring chemotherapy and radiotherapy with determination and strength. After everything she had been through, hearing she was in remission gave all of us hope and relief. For four precious months, there was light again.

But in recent weeks, Andrea and everyone who loves her received the devastating news no family ever wants to hear. The cancer has returned and has spread to other areas including her liver, chest wall and stomach. Once again, Andrea is being asked to face the unimaginable. She is now preparing for further chemotherapy and immunotherapy, showing the same bravery and resilience that has inspired us all from the beginning.

Small cell lung cancer is an aggressive and fast-moving disease. It often returns quickly and changes lives in an instant. It does not only affect the person diagnosed — it impacts every family member, every friend and every loved one who stands beside them. It brings fear, uncertainty and heartbreak to families who would do anything to take the pain away.

For Andrea’s son, for her amazing sister and brother-in-law who have been by her side every step of the way, and for all of us who love her dearly, this has been heartbreaking. Yet through it all, Andrea has never stood alone. She is surrounded by loyalty, love and people determined to help carry her through this fight.

That is why we have come together as Andrea’s Army. We want to raise funds to help ease the financial pressures that come with treatment, travel, day-to-day costs and to give Andrea and her family one less thing to worry about during this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference.

We are also organising fundraising events including a sponsored walk, race night and more, with details to follow soon. Anyone who would like to support, donate or take part will be welcomed with open arms. This is about community, compassion and showing Andrea just how loved she truly is.

Andrea is more than a diagnosis. She is a mum, a sister, a relative, a friend and a fighter. She is loved beyond words and valued more than she probably knows.

Thank you for taking the time to read Andrea’s story. We truly appreciate any donation, no matter the amount, as well as every share to help spread the word. Your kindness, support and generosity mean more than words can say.

We are Andrea’s Army — and together, we stand stronger than ever 💪🏽❤️
