Story

Laura is gathering up family and friends from across the UK to walk in the Peak District Challenge 10 mile walk around Bakewell. Each member who will make up Team Burlington is committed to raise funds for some excellent and essential charities listed below.

While there are so many incredible charities in the UK, Team Burlington have decided to fundraise for the following charities which are either local to Laura’s home in Derbyshire, or provide direct support to cancer patients and their families:

Macmillan - provide services for people living with cancer at every stage of their cancer experience.

Young lives vs cancer - They help children and young people and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. They have a team working at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

PASIC - Based in the East Midlands, their mission is to offer emotional, social, practical and financial support for families of children and young people with cancer, enabling them to improve the quality of their lives.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice - provide free care to children and young adults both in their own homes and the hospice in North Anston (Sheffield). They strive to take away some of the stresses that families face when looking after a seriously ill child.

Ashgate Hospice - The hospice, which is only a few miles from our home, provides palliative and end-of-life care free of charge to people living with a life-limiting illness, including cancer, neurological diseases, and end-stage heart, kidney and lung diseases.

Thank you for helping Team Burlington to support these charities!
