Story
We are a team of four sixth form students competing in the VEX Robotics Competition. We have been competing for 4 years and have qualified for the world championships every year, however due to the high cost of the trip, we have only ever been able to attend once. This is why we are trying to fundraise for the trip which will occur in April 2018
The VEX Robotics Competition is an international competition where over 10,000 teams from over 40 countries around the world compete to be crowned world champions. The competition involves, designing, building, programming and driving a robot to compete in regional, national and finally, international competitions.
Each year, the challenge changes, last year the objective of the game was to throw yellow 'stars' and orange 'cubes' over a three foot high fence, faster than your opponent could; in order to out score them.
As a team, we are incredibly passionate about robotics as it has helped us to become better engineers; able to look at problems in a new way. It is vitally important to engage young people with engineering now to secure the future of engineering.
