Story

Our hardy group of four colleagues - Craig, Helen, Marc and Rhiann - are setting out on a journey to complete the infamous Skye Half Marathon on 11th September 2021. The blood (hopefully not), sweat (compulsory), and tears (also compulsory) will not be in vain as the team set their sights on raising funds for The Community Foodbank in Skye & Lochalsh.

At Gael Force Group we care passionately about the rural communities in the Highlands and Islands where we are based. The Community Foodbank in Skye & Lochalsh is an independent voluntary organisation and demand for food has increased over the years including most recently as the Covid-19 pandemic has created even more uncertainty for many residents. The foodbank is run entirely by volunteers and is compassionate in its approach as well as being free from judgment.

Every month the foodbank provides dozens of families and individuals with much-needed food. They work at a grassroots level and rely on the generosity of their fantastic community.

By making a donation towards our team effort to complete the Skye Half Marathon, you will be making a huge difference to local people in the area. The food bank relies on donations to fund the purchase of food and goods for distribution to those in need. None of the volunteers are paid.
