Team Rubicon UK is a charity set up to help veterans utilise the skills and knowledge they built up during service to help those who are hit with natural disasters and devastation. They also have teams going out to aid humanitarian causes, alongside other charities across the world, whether it is helping in the refugee camps or building kitchens in Uganda for people to be able to have sanitised food. By doing this, it helps those veterans who are struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder and other health challenges to find a purpose, giving them a new sense of belonging and the action that comes with it.

The rest of the money raised will go towards developing my public speaking profile and also to help set up my own website. Helping people is one of my biggest values, if not the biggest, and I feel passionately about this. By launching myself in this direction I will not only be able to help others deal with change or re-discovery, but hopefully mentor people as well. I have helped many people during my service career and that was brilliant but this opportunity will take me to the next level. My long-term goal is to tie in with Steve Bolton's quest to mentor one million people.

I get so excited thinking about it and can’t wait to get going on this journey. I am very grateful for everyone’s support and generosity and it is my aim to show people that it is money well invested.
