UPDATE 7 JUNE: Thank you all again so much for your kindness. Our mission is now accomplished: all kittens are either rehomed already or have homes lined up. They are all in good health with their eyes clear of infection, and have had their first round of vaccinations. We struggled a lot to capture Miss Crème Brûlée, but this Tuesday we finally were able to bring her to the vet. Both mama cats are now neutered and recovering in their new loving home. Pictures in the updates section below.
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to pay for the mamas’ neutering, the first vaccination for the kittens, the vet bill for their first visit and their eyes, and give £250 to charities. We split this between London Inner City Kitties (LICK), Stokey cats and dogs, and Cats protection Mitcham branch. All three charities were kind enough to give us advice as we progressed, and Stokey Cats and Dogs helped us source a trap to catch Crème Brûlée.
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. This page is now closed for donations; but if you feel moved and can afford it, please consider donating to the above charities or to your local cat shelter. One thing we know for sure from doing this little mission, is they are overstretched and underfunded and do extremely worthy work.

UPDATE 9 MAY: Thank you all for helping out. We've got the kittens to the vet and they are now in groups of 4 in two of our homes until they are settled enough to be rehomed (it's been a BIG change for them!). We'll update the page to let supporters know how they're doing :)

We are raising funds to pay for the vet bill of 2 mama street cats and their 8 kittens, who are living in our friend Adrian's garden. Unfortunately due to severe cat allergy he cannot bring them inside. We are struggling to find a charity, shelter, or foster home, to take them all for a few weeks until they are fully weaned and old enough for adoption. Unfortunately demand is very high and so far we've had no luck as they are all extremely packed.
In the meantime, our little team is trying to get them to a vet, to treat the conjunctivitis many of them have, and ensure they are healthy and defleaed so they can be rehomed. A local vet has estimated it would cost roughly £100 to examine and deflea each kitten, and £85 to neuter each mama cat. Many of the kittens have sticky eyes from conjunctivitis, and need to see the vet about it ASAP - especially little ginger boy Calisson, whose two eyes cannot fully open as they are so sticky. We think if the kittens need antibiotics and eye cream, we'll likely need at least another £100 per kitten. So we are hoping to fundraise at least £1000 quickly, to get them seen and defleaed, and our stretch goal is £2000 to get them the care they need.
Any money raised above the cost of vet bills for the little family will be donated to cat shelters or cat charities. If any organisation does miraculously end up sheltering or fostering them, we will donate the money to that organisation.
We are thankful for any help or any shelter who would be able to take the kittens and mamas for a few weeks until they can be adopted, so they can be safely inside, away from foxes and other cats, and their eyes can be treated.
The mamas are nicknamed Salem and Crème Brûlée - so the kittens are currently nicknamed after french desserts. Please help us bring to safety little Croissant, Beignet, Soufflé, Macaron, Mousse, Brioche, Eclair and Calisson. Thank you!
