Story
In just over six weeks, Team ABSterdam; Mike Sibley, Tarun Singh, Angie Horan-Sibley & Jo Cloherty are hitting the streets of Amsterdam to complete the marathon and 8K fun run. We are asking for help to raise as much money as possible for Emerson Grant, the 2 year old son of our dear friend Anna, whose life changed completely in 2016, when a cyst on his spine left him disabled.
We are now into the final weeks of training, have a look at Emerson's story and support us if you can!
Up until August 2016 Emerson was an above average 20 month old toddler. He had just settled into his nursery where he enjoyed playing, climbing, running and jumping with his new toddler friends.
Emerson grew ill over a few weeks during which time he became unable to move his legs. He was admitted to hospital for an MRI scan, where the doctors told his family the devastating news that he had an arachnoid cyst on his spine. The surgeon removed the cyst, however not before he lost the use of his lower body.
Life has changed dramatically for Emerson and his family, Emerson is now disabled (incomplete) and requires many years of rehabilitation. No one will say if he can ever walk again but his family are positive and strong. If there is any chance of Emerson regaining his mobility again he will need lots of physiotherapy and specialist equipment.
Due to Emerson's age, funds/equipment and resources are limited and as a result a number of events are being organised to raise money to help support him.

Collectively we couldn't think of a more worthy cause and if you know any of us, Mike, Tarun, Angie or Jo, or Anna and her family; please dig deep and give generously.
Thank you so much in advance, please come and cheer us on at our final training run, the Windsor Half Marathon on Sunday 24th September if you can. Further updates will be added, including when meet up with the gorgeous boy himself!
Lastly, add a song/track suggestion when donating, so that we can add it to our playlist, it will not only remind us of your generosity but keep us going for the 4-5 hours!
