Story

Recently, one of our beloved members fell victim to an online scam on Facebook. In February, they received a message claiming that they had won a large sum of money, but to claim the prize, they needed to purchase several gift cards and send the codes to a specific Facebook account. Sadly, like many others before them, this person believed the scam to be real and ended up purchasing a significant amount of gift cards over a few months, losing around £2,000 of their own money. They kept the situation to themselves until their family recently became aware of it. This person is a valued member of our Brewkery family, who has an extremely kind and caring heart. They are a vulnerable person with a learning disability who has come such a long way since joining us, and it has been heartbreaking for them and their family to go through this ordeal.

Although the police have been informed, it is unlikely that any of the money will be retrieved. Therefore, we have decided to set up a crowdfunding page to help recoup some of the funds stolen by this awful scammer. This person not only lost their money but also their confidence, and they have been feeling very upset and angry with themselves for what happened. This is an experience that no one should have to go through, especially someone as genuine and kind as this. We want to help this wonderful person out and show them that they are not alone.

If you can, please donate to our crowdfunding page to help this person recover from this traumatic experience. Thank you so much for your support.

Warmly,

Team Brewkery
