Weʼre raising £80,000 to help towards Darek's brain tumour treatment.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

Joyful, kind, fun, considerate, full of life, warm, sincere, loving, father, husband, brother, son, true friend.... these are some words that anyone who meets Darek Wieczorek would use to describe him.
Prior to Friday 22nd June 2018, Darek 38yrs old, was enjoying his life just like you and me. Working and loving his family life. He recently became a father, to his 9 month old daughter, and you would struggle to find a better father than him.
In May this year, he began to experience frequent headaches but attributed this to a busy, responsible life and tiredness. It wasn’t until he developed severe headaches and vomiting that he knew something wasn’t right.
He visited Bedfordshire Hospital with his wife and as we all do, he believed the doctor would prescribe some medicine and discharge him. Unfortunately, he was given some news that would alter and shatter his world. After an MRI scan, doctors informed him that he had a 4cm tumour growing on the left side of his brain. He was immediately admitted into hospital for further tests and began treatment with steroids to reduce pain and swelling around the brain.
Subsequently, Darek was transferred to a brain tumour unit at Cambridge hospital, which specialises in such cases and there he was diagnosed with Glioma. They are able to operate and remove only 50% of the aggressive tumour due to its location, with radiotherapy scheduled to follow. However, this type of cancer can have a low response rate to conventional treatments and doctors are unable to comment on how effective this procedure and outcome will be. Darek and his family are now living one day at a time.
It is at this point that we really need your compassionate help. There is emerging evidence to suggest that combining conventional treatments with novel drugs has a higher success rate for prolonging life and survival. After surgery (13th July) and radiotherapy, we would like to send Darek to Prague and London, for further specialist and highly effective treatment (using conventional with non-conventional methods) currently not available in the U.K on the NHS.
Savings are being used and additional help is needed to achieve the total cost for the treatment we would like Darek to receive (approx. £200,000+).
Therefore, we are desperately seeking your help and generosity so we can plan and organise this trip/treatment for Darek, to give him hope for the best possible outcome of a long life with his wife and daughter. Any amount received would be greatly and sincerely appreciated.
We also ask, if it agrees with your beliefs, to please pray for Darek and his family during this very difficult time.
We live in a busy world but if you could take a moment and put yourself in Darek’s shoes...
Thank you for reading, sharing this story and helping.

A prayer for Darek and his family:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you to seek your comfort and supernatural healing for Darek. We ask that you guide all the doctors with their wisdom and knowledge during surgery and treatment. We believe nothing is impossible in your hands of power, in your hands of healing and in your heart of love, mercy and compassion. Calm all fears and cover Darek and his family with your sovereign hand. We ask this in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
