#TeamEvan is a fundraising group set up in memory of Evan Hawksworth. Evan was playing for his Under 14s rugby team in July 2017 and sustained a head injury, passing away 2 days later. Evan was an outstanding pupil at The Rodillian Acadamey in Lofthouse and was predicted to get all top grades in all his subjects.

Evan was a top sports player, achieving the highest grades in martial arts by the age of just 10, before turning his hand to rugby union (captain at Sandal) and later rugby league. Evan also loved playing squash and tennis with his dad (Gary) and going to the gym. Evan's other passions included cooking and music and he played the drums. Evan had a passion for life he loved the outdoors and was always busy. If he wasn't in the kitchen cooking he would be at rugby training or the gym. Evan loved spending time with family and friends and had a very close relationship with his younger sister Eleni. Evan had a very positive mind set, his attitude was “if you want something then it is up to you to make it happen”. Evan's parents along with a number of family and friends want to turn their tragedy into helping local sporting community groups as well as helping others who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.

#TeamEvan next challenge is the The Yorkshire Three Peaks, which we will be taking part in on 7 September 2019 in memory of Evan Hawksworth and Kallipateira Moorhouse, Kallipateira was sadly stillborn at 38 weeks on 26 October 2018, Kallipateira would like to create a bereavment suite at The Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax. Although the care that Ben, Gaynor and Kallipateira received was adequate they feel a bereavment suite is in great need. The bereavment suite will be named after Kallipateira

It would be amazing if we could hit our target and create this bereavment suite in Kallipateira’s memory, it will help so many families spend that special precious time with their beautiful baby.
