Story
I represent the UK at the European Transplant Games, this year in Italy and in Birmingham for the British ones. I am defending two hold medals in table tennis, won in Finland two years ago. I also compete in petanque and javelin. The idea is to promote organ donation.
I have to pay for my own training, flights, competition entry fees and expenses as well as take annual leave to compete.
I suffer from Cystic Fibrosis and had a double lung transplant in 2005 and rejection has left me with 20-25 per cent of the lung capacity of a 'normal' person my age.
I get media coverage for each tournament to show what can be achieved after transplantation and get people to have the conversation with their families and friends.
I have taken parts in debates on presumed consent (the opt out system) on the BBC and local media organisations
