Story
During the past 16 months, we have witnessed the effects that covid and lockdown have had on many children and families across the Island. When we heard about the Microgaming Triathlon, we thought it would be a great way to get together as a team to represent our school, whilst also raising money for a charity close to our hearts, as primary school teachers.
A Little Piece of Hope is a Manx Children's Charity that supports families and children across the Isle of Man. It was established in 2012 in memory of Baby Hope, to support bereaved parents and families. In 2014, they expanded their services by helping families financially with hospital stays and travel bags, along with supporting children with physical and mental health needs. They have donated a variety of equipment such as laptops, iPads and disability pushchairs, along with creating anxiety and bereavement boxes. Over the past two years, they have worked closely with a local group funding one-to-one therapy and supervised contact for children who are struggling with mental health.
On the 18th of July, India will be starting off at 7am by swimming 1.2 miles in Mooragh Lake. She will then hand over to Claire who will be completing a 56-mile cycle around the roads in the north of the island. To finish, Dawn will be running 13.1 miles over a 3 loop course in Ramsey.
We would be most grateful for any donations that will help support this great cause!
Thank you! India, Claire & Dawn x
