Story

When we visited Cyprus three years ago, we learned about Alex’s Farm of Stray Dogs from one of the volunteers. We pledged to return with money to help with rising vets bills. We are headed back to Cyprus at the end of May and we want to be able to give as much as we can to this brilliant cause.

Dogs are often abandoned without care, rescued from appalling circumstances or saved from the pound where a lethal injection awaits them. Alex runs the only sanctuary for dogs in the area (Tremithousa, Pathos) and needs all the support she can get from dog lovers all over the world, because dogs are not recognised in Cyprus for being the highly intelligent, easily trainable, loyal, social creatures that they are. Rather than surrendering unwanted dogs to a shelter, dog owners (especially those who use dogs for hunting) will abandon their dogs carelessly. These dogs that depend on us for food, shelter, medical care and more. Unwanted puppies are dumped in boxes, close to roads, water and snake infested fields to die.

Fortunately Alex’s Farm of Stray Dogs works to save as many dogs as possible and we want to support this cause by raising £200 minimum to help cover vet bills.

We are doing a Mud Run as a family and we need sponsorship please, for a great cause. Simon is running The Half Mudder, 5 miles with 14 obstacles and Emily and I are taking on the mini Mudder course as a team of two.
