Story

Team Typhoon was awarded the judges award at the First Lego League UK and Ireland Finals, and have been given the opportunity to go to USA/Hungary to compete in the world finals and Global Innovation Award ! This will take place on the April/May 2018 and June 2018 (respectively).

The IET run this science and technology challenge (First Lego League), which is aimed at 9-16 year olds and tasks teams to build a robot to tackle a series of missions, and create an innovative solution to a real world problem. Worldwide, over 250,000 children compete in this challenge. This year’s HYDRO DYNAMICS challenge is all about water – how we find, transport, use, or dispose of it.

The team – Typhoon – is made up of: Aadi Gupta (14), Shashank Baradwaaj (15), Peter Isaksen (15), Rayaan Asghar (15), Aaniya Singh (15), Ayush Sinha (14), Sanjana Prasad (14), Aporv Prabhu (15), Rudresh Desai (15) & Rishika Desai (15)

The team first won the Regionals in Newbury, and then went on to represent Newbury at the UK and Ireland Final, where they were crowned with the judges award, and given the opportunity to participate in the finals !

Their project ‘HUSK’ has been nominated for the Global Innovation award . This award is presented to a team from across the world with an innovative solution that could realistically help better the world. It takes place in California, USA. For this award, they are looking for sponsors to help develop ‘HUSK’, and working in collaboration with Peter Brett Associations for producing 'HUSK' prototype . You can read information on 'HUSK' on its website.

The team is also accepting sponsorships from other businesses, and if your business is able to do so, then you can email the team at teamtyphoonfll@gmail.com .

Any contributions would greatly help the team and are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
