Story
The team was formed in 2015. During the 2015 season we sailed in the Parkstone Yacht club evening series and competed in our first event. Although we finished last we learnt a lot and we reward with our own boat. During the 2016 season we competed on the circuit. Becoming J24 westerly National champions and Youth national champions at our first event of the season was a great achievement for the team. The next event for the team was the Europeans. Unfortunately due to equipment failures we didn't finish as well as we would have liked at this event. Although we were awarded thee old boat trophy for our hard work towards our campaign and determination to improve. The final event of the season was the autumn cup. The team had some very good races at this event but we struggled to be coincident. At the end of the season we finished 14th. Due to an amazing donation by two members of the class we were given a great boat to race at events. This meant that we no longer had to worry about the boat. At the first event of the 2017 season we had some good results but couldn't keep coincident so didn't finish as well as we wanted. The next event was the J24 southerns were the team had a good improvement on the previous event. Kiel week was the next event. We had a great regatta to end up 3rd British boat, 1st under 25 team and 13th overall. The next event of the season was the nationals. Unfortunately this didn't go our way due to some costly boat breakages from borrowing a boat because we could not get ours to the event. We ended up 1st youth team and 9th overall.
With one event left of the season we are confident that we have qualified for the J24 worlds next year. We believe that with your support we can not only compete but we can win the youth fleet.
