I've raised £3500 to Help fund a vehicle that will be driven to Mongolia and donated to Go Help.

In a mad moment, we have decided to spend a large chunk of our 30th year travelling from England to Mongolia overland!
Whilst we are planning on having an epic adventure, we are also using this as an opportunity to spread the love and do some good. We will be purchasing a vehicle here in the UK which we will donate to Go Help charity once we are in Mongolia. The vehicle will be used either as an emergency vehicle or put to another good use for the charity. As none of us own an emergency vehicle at present, we will be fundraising enough money to buy one to donate.
All fuel, food, accommodation and travel costs on the journey will be covered by ourselves. The funds raised will go towards the cost of purchasing the vehicle itself, spare parts to take with us and servicing before we go. We hope you can support us with even a small donation towards our goal!
Paul, Tom and Katie. We all met at sixth form college and we will be undertaking this mammoth journey together in the same vehicle.
Ultimately we'd love to receive a donated ambulance (or purchase a heavily discounted one), though as ambulances are fairly pricey, we are aiming for another useful vehicle the charity needs, such as a Pickup, which are ideal on the rural steppe terrain in Central Asia.
We will leave in July 2018 and aim to arrive in Mongolia by September 2018.
We will be travelling through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia. (subject to change depending on the inevitable visa hold ups and car breakdowns!)
Go Help's research has found that there is a shortfall of around 100 ambulances in Mongolia alone. Of those ambulances that are there, many are in poor condition and not able to handle the terrain and therefore not able to reach people in need. We hope to be a tiny tiny part in changing that as well as supporting their fantastic literacy and kids programmes.
So in summary, partly for the epic adventure and partly for the good cause. But most importantly...
