Story
My daughter Clara has expressed an interest in raising funds for ‘Teddies for Loving Care’. This nationwide charity, set up in 2001, provides teddy bears for distressed children in hospitals and hospices throughout the country. To date over a million teddies have been given out.
More information about the charity can be found at http://www.tlcappeal.org/
Clara wishes to undertake the 'Across Wales Walk' to raise funds through sponsorship for this charity. This is an endurance walk event of almost 50 miles that, as the name suggest, spans the entire width of Wales. It starts at Anchor on the English/Welsh border ending at Clarach Bay to the north of Aberystwyth. Whilst the annual organised event demands this is completed in under 18 hours I have proposed to her that for her first attempt she split this over three consecutive days (after all she is only 11 years old). I will guide her but she will be walking the whole way carrying her own kit. We are scheduled to undertake this on 26-28 May.
