Teddy’s Story

Thanks for taking the time to read our story!

Background

Teddy Antony Moyle is our beautiful baby boy who was sadly stillborn on the 12th October 2023 at 20:25. Teddy was born at 24 weeks 4 days weighing 1 pound 5 ounces.

When attending our 20 week scan an anomaly was identified and we were refered to the University Hospital of Wales with the wonderful team at the Fetal Medicine Unit he was then Diagnosed with a Severe Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (this condition affects 1 in 4000 pregnancies. This meant that Teddy’s lungs wouldn’t develop as normal. We were told the chance of him surviving were 10% without treament and 40% with.Upon further testing and being referred to the genetics team, it was also found that Teddy had a chromosome translocation (another rare condition) this meant that he was unable to be considered for the life saving treatment and his chances of survival where against us.

Unfortunately we had no other options but to say goobye to our baby boy.

Why we’re fundraising?

We were admitted the Prince Charles Hospital Merthyr Tydfil on Thursday 12th October at 10am. Where we met our amazing Midwife - Nicola Sweeney. Who took us to the straight to the Primrose Suite.

This suite is specifically for families who have lost or will loose their little ones and is provided so that families can stay together in private for the Birth and spend as much time as they require with their baby.

The content of this room is funded by charities and families who have donated items to make other families comfortable when they utilise the suite.

Teddy slept in a cooled ‘cuddle cot’. These cots are 100% funded by charity or families and they afford families extra time with their baby by keeping the baby cool.

We want to raise money to continue to provide for families and examples of this wonderful cause would be replacing older damaged cots that are beyond repair, providing TV’s for rooms, iPads for families, toiletries, fridges, microwaves etc.

We will also be donating any funding not used in hospital to all the charities that support families. Our memory box was provided by - Simba, our professional photos of teddy was by charity - Remember my baby, the clothes teddy wore was knitted and provided by further charities.

There is also a number of support charities such as ARC and Tommys who will be funded.

The wonderful work of charities helped us through the most painful time and we would like to give back to support others.
