Story

On April 12th, my husband Aaron and our incredible friend Rhydian will be taking on the Brighton Marathon — their very first marathon, so please keep them in your thoughts (especially around mile 20!). They’re running in aid of EBEC, a fantastic Carmarthenshire based fundraising group that supports children and young people with visual impairments and their families a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts.

Our daughter was born with Albinism and Nystagmus, something we didn’t become aware of until she was six weeks old. Like many families, we suddenly found ourselves navigating a diagnosis we knew very little about, feeling worried and uncertain about what her future might look like. One of the most powerful things EBEC gave us was the opportunity to meet other families on similar journeys. Sharing experiences, learning from one another, and realising we weren’t alone turned something overwhelming into something manageable.

By taking on this marathon (and the inevitable sore legs that come with it), Aaron and Rhydian are raising both funds and awareness so more families can find the same understanding, connection, and support when they need it most. Every donation goes directly to EBEC and helps fund the activities and resources that make such a meaningful difference.

Thank you so much for your support, it truly means the world to us.
