Teila was born on the 25th november 2017.She was whisked away to intensive care minutes after delivery where we have spent the last 12weeks. It wasnt long until we realised how complex our tiny little daughter is.She has an undiagnosed genetic syndrome,multiple internal abnormalies including a very under developed brain and multiple physical abnormalities,all of which she will need monitoring for during her life time.Thats not the reason we are in hospital still though.Teila cant swallow properly so every time shes sick, like normal babys do, or every time she gets a build up of saliva,she cant swallow to clear it so she has life threatening episodes where she stops breathing and her heart rate slows right down :( we have tried lots of diff ways to try and stop this,Including high calorie formula to lower the volume of feed she has to have yet making sure she gains weight but the formula makes her sick. Shes now 12wks old and we have finally (hopefully)found a way to descrease the risk considerably by feeding her past the stomach directly into her digestive system.The only thing is she has to be fed on a continual loop for 24hrs via a machine.The machine in hospital pushs the milk through a large syringe and down her tube which allows her to have breastmilk.This is perfect for teila as she tolerates it well and its helping her grow big and strong. The machine they would provide for her to come home can only be filled with formula 😢 its fed threw a bag not syringe and the fat content from breast milk would stick to the bag meaning she wont be gettin enough calories to be able to gain weight. Its really important for me(and her) as she is vunerable and her immune system is soley built threw what my milk does for her so we are trying to raise enough to be able to get her own machine like the one we are using in hospital but they are not cheap :( Any help would be deeply appreciated. I just want to get my baby home where she belongs...with her family ♡ thankyou ♡
