    Story

    Hi, I'm Alex. Picture above.
In February 2016, I had the great opportunity of volunteering on an education program with VSO ICS in a small rural community in the Talensi District in the Upper East Region of Ghana for three months. There I lived with a local family in the community, ate the traditional food and lived the life of a true member of the community during my stay there. My role was to identify areas of their school that needed extra support that I could get involved and help make sustainable change to better their in the long term through the power of education. Myself and three other volunteers made great sustainable change during our time and the work we carried out truly made an impact to the young lives in the community.

Now as part of my aspirations in life, I've started a campaign named "PROJECT SDG4 which is a community outreach campaign which aims at providing "academically at risk students" in rural communities with books and other school materials. This campaign is also geared towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 thus "Ensure Inclusive and Quality Education for All". Schools in remote areas in Ghana, West Africa have a severe lack of teachers and teaching resources and many families struggle to meet their daily needs and It's easy to forget that books are prohibitively expensive in such places and the door to education remains closed for many.. If you share the same vision please donate any amount to help us provide these students with books and other school materials to enhance learning.

It's not enough to remember the less fortunate in thought alone. Let's remember them by our deeds!

Money raised will go directly to schools in local communities in the form of school resources, stationary, books, sports education and teacher training for the locals and also providing them the necessary equipment to help better their education. Thank you.
