Story
Since last we fundraised for the New Hope School we have sent learning materials, clothing and money to help the school survive. We have set up great Penpal arrangements with kids in North Tyneside Schools and recently signed up the highly regarded Churchill Community College to have a partnership with New Hope School. Our cover photo shows bare foot pupils happily wearing Wallsend Boys Club shirts - another helpful partner to whom we are very grateful. But nothing stands still and it is our aim this summer to raise enough funds so the school can continue to provide a daily meal to its pupils. It may only be rice, porridge or stew but for the majority of pupils it will be their only meal of the day. We want to cover the cost of school meals for the full year giving the Head Teacher one less expense to worry about. To do that we need your contribution to this page and/or have you come to our fundraising evening at Wallsend Rising Sun Pub on 11 August where entertainment will be provided by excellent guitar man Tom Low (nephew of Mick McConnell) and our own North Shields based funny man Terry (King of the Swingers) Brock. Please make a contribution. I can promise that every single penny goes direct to helping these lovely, but desperately poor children.
