Story
In August I am going to be attempting to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for RMHC. All money raised will be donated at the new Ronald McDonald House Edinburgh that is opening in September. I am hoping to raise as much as I possibly can for this amazing cause that helps keep families together when children are sick and at their most vulnerable.
About the Challenge: The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft). The total driving distance is 462 miles. The three mountains are: Snowdon, in Wales (1085m) , Scafell Pike, in England (978m) , Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m).
About the Charity: Ronald McDonald House Charities provides free 'home away from home' accommodation to families while their child is in hospital. There are 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK (soon to be 15 when the Edinburgh House opens), all located close to specialist children's hospitals. Our Houses are open 365 days a year and are equipped with everything you would find in a family home. Families can get a good night's sleep, prepare their own meals and feel at home, knowing that they're only a moments away from their child.
