In the world we currently live in all I read and watch is negative stories about young people. The likes of Channel 5 creating programs which glamorises gang culture, masked young people flashing there drug money and weapons like it is acceptable...even 'normal!' Every other week there is a story in the press, either a 'stabbing' or 'suicide' story involving a young person. This has got to stop! We need to start focusing on the good, talented, overshadowed young people and help the ones who find themselves in a situation maybe they feel they cannot escape. There needs to be equality and diversity. There needs to be support and guidance. Here is where my dream started. I have always been a fan of music and believes it connects people from all walks of life. It does not matter where you come from, what your background is music knows no bounds. I have been looking to start a mobile music summer scheme. My aim is to visit different areas up and down the country and connect with young people whether that be through them creating the music themselves or simply just wanting to listen in. There is an untold amount of talent out there which is not given the opportunity to even dare to dream it could become a reality and that it what I want. I want young people to dare to dream again, to have the confidence to put themselves out there, it could just be a hobby and that is okay too. I would love to be able to afford to pay for this off my own back but am currently on the verge of finishing a diploma in engineering and do not have the money myself which is why I am asking for donations no matter how big or small. I want to do something positive this summer for young people of my old area and beyond but need help, together we can make a difference .
