I've raised £1500 to Terry Pryor Trust Stank, on behalf of David Penberthy, Mark Bryant Ian Eslick Ken Harris, Ian Bryant and Keith Huxtable

In August last year Redruth RFC, in conjunction with Redruth School, launched the Terry Pryor Trust at the Remembrance Day for Terry which took place at the rugby club. Since then, the Trust have been busy putting everything into place to be able to raise funds on an ongoing basis. The purpose of the Trust is to advance the education of young people in the Redruth community by providing and assisting in the provision of coaching facilities and equipment in such ways as the charity’s trustees think fit including by:
(a) Awarding to such persons grants or bursaries at school, college or university
(b) By developing their mental, physical and moral capabilities through sporting activity, in particular rugby union.
Our first major fund raiser will be a “TAP Trust Stank” which will take place over 3 days in April this year. The usual Chopper Stankers will be out in force and the plan is to set off at St Austell Rugby Club on Wednesday 20th April picking up the Coast Path at Charlestown then heading down to Portloe. On the Thursday we will head from Portloe to Penryn Rugby Club via the St Mawes ferry and then on the Friday the 22nd head from Penryn RFC to Redruth School with a mid walk “stop off” at the Pryor Farm in Menherion Stithians. Our finish will be on Saturday the 23rd when a short stank from the school to the club will tie in with the clubs last home game of the season against Barnstaple. the Trust thought it apt that we take in the 3 clubs that Terry was involved with throughout his rugby career.
Terry's involvement in our community was huge. He was a teacher at Redruth School, coached many current and former players at the school, he also played for Redruth, was captain of Redruth, Cornwall, England B was a bench replacement for England in the old 5 Nations and played for the Barbarians. He was also the Head Coach at Redruth, St Austell and Penryn RFC. All money raised will go to the Trust.
Those taking part in this challenge are the usual group of myself Mark Bryant Ian Eslick Ken Harris, Ian Bryant and Keith Huxtable. Others are more than welcome and further arrangements will be announced in due course.
Please donate to this worthy cause.
